Geneva show: Nissan previews new Juke Nismo RS, launches revised Juke
Best-seller gets serious
NISSAN ACCOMPANIED the launch of its facelifted Juke SUV with a glimpse of a hot new version that could make these shores at the end of the year.
The Nismo RS builds on the existing Juke Nismo with an extra dollop of power (up from 197bhp to 210bhp) and torque (up from184 lb ft to 207 lb ft). They’re useful increases requiring the fitment of a limited slip differential on the front wheels, there to transfer power to the wheel with most grip.
Elsewhere, this fastest Nismo gets a sharper chassis, stronger brakes and extra kit. To distinguish it from the standard Nismo, it has red brake callipers and RS badges. Though the model is yet to be signed off, Nissan is confident it’ll arrive at the end of the year.
The Nismo RS will top a refreshed Juke line-up, also presented at Geneva. Nissan’s second best-selling car (after the Qashqai) gets a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine, styling revisions intended to make it look both sportier and more upmarket, and Nissan Safety Shield providing a 360deg view of the immediate area. It goes on sale in the summer.
