He Liangcai, now a Chinese private entrepreneur who also runs a car parts business, not only combined the bag with an electric scooter but also fitted it with a GPS navigation system, burglar alarm and a horn. It’s a design that took him 10 years to develop, for which the entrepreneur has obtained a patent.
The suitcase scooter might be useful for packing holiday items but it isn’t packing huge performance. His invention has a top speed of 12mph, the Changsha Evening News reported. But with a range of 37 miles per charge and capacity for two passengers, it’s a novel and practical way of zipping off on a business trip.
Whether or not it would arrive unscathed on the destination airport’s baggage carousel is another question.
